The founders of RIOC prepared the programme for the Workshop entitled Advisory role of CSDP Missions in disrupting Criminal Organisations in host countries organised by CMC Finland and the Police University College under the EU Police and Civilian Services Training (EUPCST) project and funded by the Instrument contributing to Stability and Peace (IcSP) in October 2019. The workshop was held in Järvenpää, Finland and hosted participants i.a. from EU Member States, CSDP Missions, EEAS incl. the Deputy Civilian Operations Commander, Birgit Loeser, UNODC, OSCE and Europol.
The Handbook on Advisory Support to Tackling Organised Crime written by Paulius Klikunas and Tanja Tamminen was launched at the event and very well received by the participants.
“Organized Crime is increasing in the EU. Currently, it poses a high risk for the Member States and has diverse impacts jeopardizing among other things their internal security, public health, economy and integrity. The prevention of organized crime requires extensive international information exchange and joint cross border investigations. Therefore, the CSDP Handbook on Advisory Support to Tackling Organised Crime will provide the EU Member States and Third Countries, which are affected by this harmful phenomena, with a standard harmonizing their common strategic and operational activities in fighting organized crime”.
