RIOC has expertise also on Balkan matters. For instance, the President of the Board, Tanja Tamminen, has previously served over 5 years in the EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo, EULEX. In March Tamminen participated as a short term expert in the Twinning project, in which Finnish and Estonian experts from public administration authorities work to improve the capacity of Albanian Security Academy to train and educate law enforcement officers in Albania. Tamminen also discussed cooperation possiblities with Kosovo partners and prepared in-mission training plans with EULEX and OSCE Mission colleagues.
